HTTPS is No Longer Optional

Google Chrome 68

For more than a year, Google Chrome has been marking more and more HTTP web pages as "not secure".

Google made a new announcement earlier this month that beginning in July 2018, Google Chrome will mark all HTTP sites as “not secure”, continuing their campaign to secure the web.

Why HTTPS matters

Users who see a “not secure” warning when visiting your website will be much more reluctant to trust your brand or make purchases.

“You should always protect all of your websites with HTTPS, even if they don’t handle sensitive communications.”

HTTPS protects your website visitors by eliminating unprotected communications.

Developers can now create powerful tools that can provide new offline experiences but they depend on HTTPS.
